Works Pelican (Baxter) Island and Rigby Island Habitat Augmentation Project

Gippsland Ports is undertaking dredging and shoreline renourishment work at Pelican Island and Rigby Island during April, May and June 2025.

Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2025

The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is updating the local ports regulations. The regulations help local port managers operate local ports safely and effectively so that port users can use and enjoy them. The current regulations are due to expire in mid-2025, so DTP is now reviewing them and proposing updates.

Port Welshpool Harbour – Local Port Area Plan

Gippsland Ports has released a Final Local Port Area Plan (Plan) for the Port Welshpool Harbour. This Plan will guide future decisions about the Harbour’s safe operation, functionality and sustainability.

Notice to Dispose of Vessel

This notice is to advise that under the Port Management (Local Port) Regulations 2015 that Gippsland Ports intends to dispose of an unnamed 10m fibreglass motor cruiser, removed Newlands Arm, registration JT 608.

Christmas Closure Dates

Gippsland Ports wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year. Our offices and depots will be closed from midday Friday December 20, 2024. Our Bairnsdale office and Paynesville Boatyard will reopen on Monday December 30, 2024. Our Lakes Entrance office and Bullock Island Boatyard will reopen on Monday January 6, 2024.

Please be advised that after a refurbishment the Sewage Pumpout Facility at Bullock Island Fuel Pontoon in North Arm, Lakes Entrance is again operational. Thank you for your patience while we attended to maintenance issues.

New Boating Destinations

With the provision of funding from the Gippsland Lakes Coordinating Committee, Gippsland Ports has recently completed installation of 10 additional swing moorings for recreational boaters at popular destinations within the Gippsland Lakes.

Loch Sport Hotel Jetty Sand Accumulation

Gippsland Ports is working to obtain the relevant permits and approvals to remove the accumulated sand at the Loch Sport Jetty as soon as possible.

Request for Expression of Interest

Gippsland Ports is seeking expressions of interest for purchase and removal three vessels currently stored at Paynesville Boatyard. The vessels have been removed from the waterway by Gippsland Ports under the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015.

Lake Wellington – Hydrographic Survey Completed

Gippsland Ports is proud to announce the successful completion of a major hydrographic survey covering the entirety of Lake Wellington. This survey represents the final piece in a comprehensive mapping project for the Gippsland Lakes, marking the most thorough examination of the lakes to date.

Paynesville Fuel Jetty Sewage Pump-Out Now Operational

Please be advised that the Paynesville Jetty Sewage Pump-Out is again operational and the Duck Arm Sewage Pump-Out is now closed until the start of December 2024. Thank you for your patience while we attended to maintenance issues.
