Missing Fire Damaged Yacht Tucana
The area between Horn Point Wilsons Promontory and the Seal Group of Islands and the Entrances to Corner Inlet and Port Albert

Mariners are advised that a search of the area East of Rabbit Island and Wilsons Promontory by the Gippsland Ports vessel Shearwater has found no trace of the burnt hull of the yacht Tucana which caught fire yesterday 23rd October 2023. The crew of the vessel abandoned ship and have been rescued and transferred ashore.
The last known position of the vessel was;
Lat.    38° 54.235’ S
Lon. 146° 34.010’ E                Datum WGS84
Approximately 2.85nm East of Rabbit Island.
The vessel is presumed but not confirmed to have sunk due to the weather at the time and the low remaining freeboard caused by the fire. See attached photo.
Mariners are requested to contact Gippsland Ports Harbour Master if the remains of the vessel are sighted.
