The Kalimna Jetty will be fully closed to the public from January 29th, 2024, to March 29th, 2024, as indicated by on-site signage. During this time, pedestrian access and vessel berthing will not be permitted.
The closure is part of a project aimed at extending the low landing area of the jetty by 6 meters. Additionally, the existing structure will undergo redevelopment, including widening of the jetty approach. These improvements, funded via the Recreational Fishing Grant program, are being made to ensure compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act, promoting accessibility for all individuals.
A section of the carpark adjacent to the toilet block on the north edge has been cordoned off for the storage of materials and construction activities, as depicted in the provided picture. However, the remainder of the carpark remains open for public use. Visitors can still access the Kalimna rocks walking track and the public toilets during this period.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to enhance the accessibility and safety of the Kalimna Jetty area.
