Location: Lakes Entrance – The Narrows

DATE:  01 November 2021 DETAILS:  Mariners are advised that the Starboard Lateral Mark No.5 Beacon in The Narrows at Lakes Entrance has been damaged by vessel strike. The position of the No.5 Beacon is;

• Lat.    37° 52.919’ S     Lon. 147° 57.030’ E                                 Datum GDA94

The beacon has a substantial lean upstream and a temporary light (Fl.G.4s) has been re-established to the damaged beacon, pending remedial works to replace. The starboard top mark remains missing from the pile top. Mariners are advised to take extra precaution when transiting the Narrows channel near No.5 Beacon.
